Mooc

In order to promote the circulation and transnational recognition of Transformative Artistic Practices as widely as possible across cultural sectors—at regional, national and European levels—we are developing a series of digital resources brought together in a MOOC.

This MOOC includes a podcast series and video content, interviews with artists and European experts invited by our partners, as well as an interactive map of art and ecology initiatives in Europe and worldwide. It complements the catalogue of 100 artists selected as part of the COAL Prize Se transformer, available in the “Artists” section.

Funded by the European Union. Views and opinions expressed are however those of the author(s) only and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). Neither the European Union nor EACEA can be held responsible for them.

Map

This interactive online map brings together sites of transformative artistic practices from around the world. Initiated ten years ago by the French eco-conscious artist Carmen Bouyer, this evolving and non-exhaustive resource identifies artist residencies, cultural centres, institutes, programmes, collectives and studios, as well as schools, festivals and funding opportunities that connect contemporary art with social and environmental issues.

Expanded and made public as part of our Transformative Territories programme, the map places particular emphasis on European actors, while also including initiatives developed beyond this geographical area. It is designed to grow over time, extending its scope to reflect a wider diversity of practices and contexts.

The map is regularly updated, and we warmly invite you to share your suggestions of organisations, places or initiatives to be added.
